This year, Keller Rohrback's Seattle office participated in the Elizabeth Gregory Home summer donation drive, providing clothing and vital supplies to this worthy charity. the Elizabeth Gregory Home is a Seattle area non-profit that serves homeless women by providing transitional housing, a Day Center and case management services, while providing a welcoming and respectful refuge where homeless and at-risk women can access compassionate care.
Keller Rorhback was a proud sponsor of the UW (University of Washington) NALSA (Native American Law Student Association) 2023 Salmon Bingo Dinner. The dinner took place on Friday, April 28, at wǝɫǝbʔaltxw (Intellectual House) on the UW campus. The dinner featured Indigenously prepared foods, and bingo with prizes focused on Native-created items or Native-owned businesses.
March is Women’s History Month, and this month we take a moment to recognize and learn a little bit about women who have served on the United States Supreme Court. The Court is the highest tribunal in the Nation for all cases and controversies arising under the Constitution or the laws of the United States. As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under law and, thereby, also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution. To date, six women have served on the Court, with four of them still actively serving.
Each year since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History month and endorsed a specific theme. According to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH.org), “the intention has never been to dictate or limit the exploration of the Black experience, but to bring to the public’s attention important developments that merit emphasis.”
According to an article published by The Practice magazine, between the years 2000 and 2015, the number of Asian American lawyers practicing in the United States has grown from 20,000 to 53,000, and now comprise nearly five percent of lawyers Nationwide. In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month, we’re taking some time to feature some of the amazing and important work currently being done by our Keller Rohrback attorneys of AAPI heritage.
Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, is an important reminder to support and protect the environment, raise awareness on the climate and ecological crises, and to make a conscious effort to reduce our environmental impact.
Every March, we celebrate Women's History Month (WHM) in honor of women's contributions to American society. WHM began as International Women's Day on March 8, which has been observed in some form since 1911 and was officially commemorated by the United Nations in 1975.
In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, we featured the perspectives of some of Keller Rohrback's Asian American and Pacific Islander attorneys, who spoke about what being an AAPI attorney means to them and what their hopes are for future AAPI attorneys.
This Pride, in recognition that the gains of the LGBTQIA community are largely due to the efforts of community members of color, we have been exclusively highlighting Black LGBTQIA activists, artists, and politicians who have bravely pushed our country forward.
